Author: Kenny  //  Category: IPOD

I just got my iPod and I am anxious to start downloading music to my iPod.  I have a windows system and it recognizes it but when I try to download music to my iPod I cant see it or play it.

Is this something that you have had a problem with.  You are not alone.  This is a common theme with new iPod owners that are anxious to start playing their music.  The problem is that yes your windows system will see the iPod when you connect it with your usb cord.  But windows only see it as a hard drive.  Another problem is that the place were the music need to be downloaded to on the iPod is hidden to windows or any operating system.  The only software that is able to see it is iTunes.  So, in order to download music to your iPod you need to have iTune installed on your system and you have to work through it.

To get musin on your iPod I want to direct you to this very good tutorial.

How Do I Connect My iPod To My PC

Author: Kenny  //  Category: IPOD

Connecting your iPod to your PC or Mac is a primary function to just exchange songs.  One you may just want to deposit all of your songs from your iPod onto your computer to store them.  Or you just may want to get a new song or two that you brought from itunes.  In any case it should not be a big deal to connect your iPod to your PC if you have the correct hardware and software.

First do you have the correct hardware to connect your iPod to your PC.  When you buy a iPod you may not have the right hardware or iPod cords to connect to a PC.  Did you buy the iPod new, if so you may have it.  Look for the USB 2.0 cables.  In the instructions it explains for to connect this cable to the iPod.

Now that you have the right cables, it is time to install the software that came with your iPod.  This software is an app that helps your iPod OS to speak with your PC OS.  Go through the instructions or wizard and install the software.

Gently pull on both ends, the cable can lock at desirable length or automaticall retract into the reel for easy storage.

Next you want to find the usb slot on your PC.  Older PC’s will probably have this on the back of the computer.  Newer systems will have it on the front.  Plug your usb cable into the slot and let the computer start to recognize the iPod.  The system should explain to you that it has found the iPod.  Now you should be able to communicate with Apple itunes to exchange music.

It is as simple as that.  You should now be up and running.  If you are having problems it is probably from the software the came with your iPod.  Just unplug your iPod from your PC and reinstall the software.  This should solve the problem.

iPod Instructions - Is It That Hard To Figure Out How To Use It?

Author: Kenny  //  Category: IPOD

Maybe you just got an iPod as a gift. Of course, you open the box in a hurry and now you’re looking for the iPod instructions but you can’t find one. Your last resort would be to go online and find one fast. There are a lot of iPod instructions out there. Some are free and others are for sale.

Here’s a tip though. You don’t have to read and learn everything in one day, let alone in one hour or thirty minutes. To be able to enjoy your iPod, just learn how you can put your songs into your iPod first. Then later on as you think of a feature you want to use, learn how you can do it.

Getting the Basic iPod Instructions

First off, inspect your iPod physically. Look at all the keys and buttons that it has. Then you can try turning it on by clicking on any key. But wait a minute because you don’t have any songs on it yet. You must first load your favorite songs on your iPod.

For loading songs, you will need to download iTunes into your computer. Again familiarize yourself with its interface. If you have existing songs in MP3 format, load them to iTunes. Find where these songs are and then click on them and drag them to the iTunes window. To check if they were added to iTunes, look for a plus sign beside its name on iTunes.

You can also add songs from your CDs. Get your favorite CD and load it while you are online. Then look for the import button on the iTunes window and click it. iTunes would then start adding the songs on your CD.

Another option you have also is going to iTunes music store. You can look for the songs which you don’t have yet. Or, you can also find new songs of your favorite artists. Listen to them through a 30-second preview. If you like them, then buy them.

Once you’ve got everything in there. You can now sync the playlist on iTunes to your iPod. Get the USB cord that came with your iPod and connect it to your computer. Go to the files menu and hit sync iPod. The time you have to wait would depend on how many songs you have on iTunes. But be patient. Do not touch anything on your iTunes window on your first sync if you don’t want to incur any problems.

Whew! You are all set to listen to your favorite songs on your iPod. Use the click wheel in browsing through the menu items. Click on it to view and press to the right to go to the next song and to the left to go to the preceding song on the playlist. To rewind, press it to the left and hold it; to forward a song, press it to the right and hold instead.

More Tips

The next time you sync your iPod, you may also want to add just a few songs. What you can do is to go on manual mode. Then just click and drag the songs to the iPod icon to add them. Just like any other storage device, you would have to eject it properly before physically disconnecting when you are done. Perhaps that’s enough iPod instructions for now.
